LATINOADAPTA: SCIENTIFIC ADVICE TO CLIMATE CHANGE DECISION MAKERS AND NEGOTIATORS FROM LATIN AMERICAN COUNTRIES
PROJECT OBJECTIVE:
- Strengthen the capacity of Latin American national governments for evidence based climate responsive policies and decision making.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:
- Assess challenges and opportunities for implementing NDCs in 6 Latin-american countries, focusing on adaptation knowledge gaps by national negotiators/diplomats, policy makers and practitioners.
- Strengthen climate change decision making capacity by solving the specific knowledge gaps previously identified and facilitating access to and understanding of information relevant for adaptation.
- Provide evidence-based advice to Latin-american negotiators/diplomats, policy makers and practitioners on topics related to NDCs and NAPs, tracking of their implementation and consultations related to the facilitative dialogue, SBSTA and/or SBI.Provide evidence-based advice to Latin-american negotiators/diplomats, policy makers and practitioners on topics related to NDCs and NAPs, tracking of their implementation and consultations related to the facilitative dialogue, SBSTA and/or SBI.
