Platform for the construction of tools and capacities for the design of sustainable productive transitions in Uruguay

THE PROJECT

Sustainable productive transitions in rural areas can simultaneously improve environmental, economic and social dimensions, and also create new markets and export opportunities for Uruguay. However, for the design of sustainable productive transitions, the country needs to advance in the development of tools and capacities.

GENERAL OBJECTIVE

To develop tools and capacities for the design of sustainable productive transitions in Uruguay.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
  • Contribute to developing indicators and monitoring, evaluation and learning systems for sustainable transitions;
  • Improve the capacity of INIA and the Science and Technology system to access and take advantage of large volumes of data linked to agroecosystems;
  • Strengthen the governance system associated with productive transitions through the generation of public policies, private agreements, participatory mechanisms and the creation of a transitions observatory.
  • The proposed work is organised into seven components, closely linked to each other
