Conference Model for the Development and Exploitation of Natural Resources: Conflicts and Contradictions, David Harvey in CURE, Maldonado

David Harvey is a British geographer and anthropologist, is Professor of Anthropology and Geography at City University of New York and Miliband Fellow of the London School of Economics. Harvey is one of the most prestigious intellectuals of our time and one of the greatest exponents of the current called “Critical Geography”, also known as “Radical Geography”.

In Uruguay, he visited places of national reference in these themes, guided by researchers and social movements that have organized interesting debates, meetings and conferences from his presence to reflect at local level on global issues.

• Conference “Territorial conflicts, inequality and collaborative modes of production of the city” – Wednesday, November 18, 19:00 – Exhibition Hall of the Faculty of Architecture.
• Lecture at Paraninfo de la Udelar – David Harvey will receive the title Dr. Honoris Causa from the University of the Republic.- Thursday, November 19, 7:00 p.m.

The arrival of David Harvey to our country is framed in celebration of the 100 years of the Faculty of Architecture. It is possible thanks to the joint effort of the Institutes of Research of History of Architecture, Theory and Urbanism, and the Permanent Unit of Housing of the Faculty; The collaboration of the Territorial Studies Group of the University Center of the Eastern Region and the SARAS Institute.
