NATIONAL FOREST MONITORING AND INFORMATION SYSTEM
OBJECTIVE
The Services will contribute to the following Organizational objective: To contribute to build the autonomous capacity of the country to monitor its forest-related REDD-plus activities ( deforestation, forest degradation, forest carbon stockconservation, sustainable management of forests and enhancement of forest carbon stocks) and to provide information on forestry related subjects (e.g. forest characteristics, biodiversity, forest concessions, annual volume harvested, FSC certification, etc.) to report to the different international conventions and agreements.
The LoA will also contribute to FAO Strategic Objective 2: Make agriculture, forestry and fisheries more productive and sustainable.
