Executive Team

Led by an Executive Director who is responsible for the steering, orientation, mission and strategic direction of the institute. The team includes individuals in charge of the design of academic programs and the establishment of links with the international academic community. It is also in charge of the management of projects and activities, the general administration and content production among others. The Executive Team gathers every 2 months.

Patricia Himschoot

Executive Director

PhD in Biological Sciences from the University of Buenos Aires and with a postgraduate degree in Mathematical Ecology (Cornell University, USA). Specialist in climate change, environmental information systems and management of transboundary basins. With more than 30 years of experience, he began his scientific career at CONICET and did his doctoral thesis applying chaos theory to ecology, these works earned him the National Academy of Medicine Award. She has worked as an expert consultant on environmental issues for international organizations, such as the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the World Bank and the Spanish Cooperation Agency, among others. She has served as Coordinator of the Argentinian  Environmental Information System, was part of the Executing Unit of the GEF Binational Project “Environmental Protection of the Río de la Plata and its Front Maritime” FREPLATA 1 and National Coordinator of the GEF FREPLATA 2 Project. Professor of the Master’s Degree in Environmental Management at the University of San Martín. During the last 6 years she was the Climate Change Manager of the Government of the City of Buenos Aires. She is currently the Director of Scientific Affairs of the R21 Foundation.
